  • Welcome to the New School Year! The KMS academic year begins on the Tuesday after Labor Day.

  • New Family Orientation Meeting

  • KMS Family Picnic: A great way to get together with families and staff to celebrate the beginning of the new school year and to welcome our new KMS families. This event is usually held at a nearby park on a Saturday afternoon.

  • Back To School Nights: The Preschool and the Elementary School each have an evening for parents to experience the kind of activities their children are involved in.

  • Halloween: KMS celebrates Halloween. Students can dress up for the occasion. A perennial favorite is the singing of "The Monster Mash"

  • Parent Teacher Conferences
  • International Feast Day: This event celebrates the diversity of KMS Families and Staff. Everyone is encouraged to dress up in a way that reflects his or her heritage. Families can contribute a potluck dish that represents their culture. Music and dance performances by staff, children, and parents are also a part of this fun event. It is held on the Wednesday before the Thanksgiving break and parents are encouraged to attend.

  • Spring Garden Day: Parents, Staff, and Children get together for some gardening, weeding, and general spring cleaning.

  • KMS Annual Arts Festival and Raffle: Our big fundraiser of the year. We close off the street near the school for performances by the children, parents and Bay area dance groups. There is also a silent auction and raffle. This event is open to the public. Admission is free.

  • Family Day Celebration: Our alternative celebration to celebrate Mother’s and Father’s Day so that all types of families are included.

  • ABADA Capoeira Batizado: KMS capoeira students participate in this annual event. Batizado means "baptism" in Portuguese and is capoeira’s graduation/initiation ritual. Students participate in the complex routines they have worked so hard to learn and each student receives a special Portuguese capoeira name.

  • 5th Grade Graduation: A dinner event for graduates and their families. Each graduate makes a speech reflecting on their KMS experience.

  • End of Summer Celebration: This event takes place on the last day of the summer program and includes many fun summer activities and games.
