Age-appropriate Learning at KKMS
  • Age-Appropriate Learning
  • Age appropriate learning takes into consideration the natural developmental stages of childhood. Kids learn faster and develop a life-long love of learning.

KMS believes, as does Bev Boss as well as other cutting-edge educators, that one of the reasons kids "fail" in school is that schools don’t take into account "age-appropriate" learning. Teaching children to read at earlier and earlier ages in an attempt to increase test scores is counterproductive.

  • When teaching a child the correct skill that matches his/her developmental level, the child will learn very quickly. If you teach it something before a child is ready and able to process the learning, they will get frustrated, develop low self-esteem and come to hate not only that subject but also the whole process of learning. They will take that throughout the rest of their schooling.
