The KMS Dance Program is designed for children to be exposed to many forms of expression and movement from an early age. At KMS we believe that early exposure to different dance expressions is vital for the development of the whole child. KMS offers a dance program with an emphasis in ballet, creative movement and Traditional Mexican Folk Dance but children are exposed to different expressions around the world. Through this discipline children learn not only technique, partner dancing, exploration of the space, costume construction but they develop a love for dancing and performance. Children perform at the Annual Arts Festival at the end of the school year; also they learn to collaborate with local professional Dance companies and local artists and musicians. In addition to our dance program, students also are able to participate in our Capoeira Dance program, an Afro-Brazilian martial art form that teaches music, acrobatics, rhythm, history, culture, tradition and the Portuguese language.
